Former actress Tahreem Zuberi recently revealed that early in her career in the showbiz industry, she faced inappropriate proposals but immediately rejected them. In a candid conversation on Hafiz Ahmed’s podcast, she opened up about her experiences in the entertainment industry and the challenges women face, particularly in terms of harassment.
Tahreem Zuberi shared that women often face harassment in the showbiz world, but she believes it’s within their power to confront such situations head-on. She emphasized that although women are frequently seen as weaker, in reality, they are incredibly strong and resilient.
The actress recalled her early days in the industry, having entered at a young age, and worked for nearly 22 years. Throughout her career, she worked with various individuals, always maintaining clear boundaries. She described an incident where someone tried to make an inappropriate offer to her through subtle gestures, but she immediately turned it down without hesitation.
Tahreem Zuberi attributed her confidence to her father, who was a constant support and taught her how to face difficult situations with strength. She also discussed how women, when working on a project, often have an innate sense to identify when someone is making an inappropriate advance. This instinct, she noted, isn’t to age or background but is something inherent in every woman.
While she did not dismiss the women who speak out about harassment, she emphasized the importance of women not making themselves easily available to others. Tahreem Zuberi warned that men are often cunning and know where to test boundaries. Therefore, women must never compromise on their dignity, regardless of the circumstances.
