A major supermarket has axed a popular treat, but hope isn't lost for fans. M&S's 150g Gigantic Mint Buttons have been delisted indefinitely.
TikToker (@awesomeisdifferent) noticed the chocolates were missing from M&S shelves, saying she couldn't find them "anywhere". She said: "I'm going to have one a day to savour the moment." She added that she may end up just "eating them all". Another user agreed, saying: "Those mint buttons are divine!" Online reviews show the treat has lots of fans, one said they "disappeared very quickly in my house". Another said they are "excellent" and "minty enough" without being "like a breath freshener". But all hope may not be lost for those who enjoy the Gigantic Mint Buttons.
M&S said: "We always listen to customer feedback when reviewing future ranges."
In the meantime, M&S offers other treats, such as the Gigantic Orange Buttons and the Milk Chocolate Giant Buttons.
This comes after M&S released their Christmas collection, which is partly available in stores and for online order, with deliveries available on December 22 and 24.
The collection includes a tear-and-share garlic butter brie wreath, a build-by-numbers charcuterie and antipasti grazing platter, and a Christmas sausage roll garland.
An M&S spokesperson said: "At M&S Food we are constantly innovating and refreshing our range, reacting to trends, and customer feedback.
"We have a great selection of treat bags and chocolate boxes in our Foodhalls including our luxurious Swiss Chocolatier Crispy Clouds selection, our incredibly moreish Belgian chocolate Pick 'n' Marks range and customer favourite, the After Dinner Mint Collection."
The retail giant has also announced the closure of 11 cafes in its smaller food shops as part of a continued shake-up of its store estate. M&S said on Monday that shutting the cafes is part of efforts to create space for more popular products.
It stressed that no jobs will be cut as a result, with impacted staff maintaining roles in the stores. The closures will affect fewer than 4% of the group's 316 food shops.
An M&S spokesman said: "As we look to modernise our food business and offer the best of M&S Food to more people, more often, we're investing in our store estate to give our customers the widest possible product range."
