The magic of tourism and pilgrimage is at its peak in Uttarakhand! In the last three years, more than 23 crore tourists have been attracted to the valleys of this beautiful state. The efforts of the government under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami are now bearing fruit. These efforts have not only taken tourism to new heights, but have also brought new splendor to the lives of home stays, hotels, dhaba operators, women self-help groups and transport traders.

New color of tourism: Now not only hill stations, villages also hit!

Tourism in Uttarakhand is no longer limited to just big hill stations like Mussoorie, Nainital. Tourists are now visiting small remote villages and untouched tourist places. Adventure activities like rafting, trekking, bungee jumping and mountaineering have made not only domestic but also foreign tourists crazy. Statistics of the Tourism Department show that in these three years, more than 23 crore tourists visited Uttarakhand. Due to this boom, the earnings of hotel, restaurant, home stay and transport businessmen have increased. The special thing is that more than 6,000 home stay operators in the state are taking direct advantage of this tourism wave.

New era of pilgrimage: Chardham Yatra made record

Pilgrimage is also in full swing in Uttarakhand. So far this year, more than 50 lakh pilgrims have reached Chardham Yatra. More than 4,300 horse-mule operators provided their services on the foot routes of Kedarnath and Yamunotri. The government is now also promoting winter travel, so that the pilgrimage continues throughout the year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Adi Kailash Yatra has given a new impetus to pilgrimage and tourism in the border areas of Pithoragarh.

Base of Uttarakhand’s economy: Tourism and pilgrimage

Tourism is a strong pillar of the economy of Uttarakhand. It not only fills the government treasury but also supports the livelihood of the local people. From home stays to dhabas, every small and big businessman is taking advantage of this boom. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami says, “Tourism and pilgrimage in Uttarakhand has got a tremendous boost due to the visits of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Our aim is to run tourism activities throughout the year, so that the local people get direct benefits from it.”

Uttarakhand has now become not just a tourist destination but a confluence of adventure, spiritual and cultural experiences. Due to the efforts of Dhami government, this state has become a favorite destination for tourists from across the country and the world.
