Raghopur Assembly Election 2025: Raghopur assembly seat (129) is considered a VIP seat in Bihar politics. It comes under Vaishali district and Vaishali Lok Sabha constituency. This seat has been the stronghold of Lalu family. Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi and Tejashwi Prasad Yadav – all three have won from here. The 2025 elections are also going to be very special for this reason.
In the 2010 assembly elections, JDU candidate Satish Kumar had created a big upset by defeating RJD's Rabri Devi. Satish Kumar got 64,222 votes, while Rabri Devi got only 51,216 votes. The victory margin was 13,006 votes.
For the first time in 2015, Lalu-Rabri's son Tejashwi Prasad Yadav entered the fray. He defeated Satish Kumar of BJP. Tejashwi got 91,236 votes while Satish Kumar got 68,503 votes. This time the victory margin increased to 22,733 votes.
In 2020, the contest again took place between Tejashwi and Satish Kumar. Tejashwi Yadav registered his second consecutive victory by getting 97,404 votes. Whereas BJP candidate Satish Kumar could get only 59,230 votes. This time the victory margin further increased to 38,174 votes.
Raghopur seat is dominated by Yadav and Muslim voters, which is the core vote bank of RJD. At the same time, Bhumihar and Brahmin voters support BJP. Paswan and other backward classes also play a decisive role. This caste equation makes every election interesting.
Tejashwi Prasad Yadav (RJD) is the current MLA and has also been the Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly. His assets are around Rs 5.88 crore and his education is 8th pass. Talking about criminal cases, a total of 11 cases are pending against Tejashwi, which become a part of the election debate. He also has outstanding liabilities of Rs 17 thousand.
In the 2025 elections also, a direct contest is being considered between RJD and BJP. Tejashwi Yadav's two-time victory record is strong, but this time will BJP be able to change the atmosphere by bringing a new face or will Satish Kumar be given another chance?
