Katihar : Grand alliance’s chief ministerial candidate and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav gave a sharp reaction to the Waqf (Amendment) Act in a public meeting held in Katihar on Sunday. He said that if ‘India’ coalition government is formed in Bihar, this Act will "Will be thrown into the dust." This Act, passed by the Parliament in April 2025, was brought with the aim of empowering backward Muslims and women and increasing transparency. However, the opposition believes that this Act adversely impacts the rights of the Muslim community.
Accusations against Nitish Kumar and BJP
Tejashwi Yadav alleged that his father and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav never compromised with communal forces, while Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar always supported such forces. He accused Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and its affiliated organizations of spreading hatred in the state and the country. He told BJP "Bharat Jalao Party" Addressed and claimed that if this party comes to power, the communal agenda will increase further.
