Veteran Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty has delivered many brilliant films in his career. Having spent 49 years in the film industry Mithun is still active in Bollywood and continues to work. He has also worked with actresses many years younger than him. He has been paired with actresses ranging from Madhuri Dixit to Juhi Chawla who are 17-18 years younger than him.

Mithun Chakraborty starred with Dhak-Dhak Girl Madhuri Dixit in films like Prem Pratigya (1989) Ilaka (1989) Mujrim (1988) and Pyaar Ka Devta (1991). He also paired with Indias richest actress Juhi Chawla but their only film was a box office disaster failing to recover even half its budget.
Mithun–Juhi’s mega disaster film
Mithun Chakraborty and Juhi Chawla have appeared together in three films. The film that first saw the pair together on the big screen was Mere Sajna Saath Nibhana. This film was released 33 years ago on February 7 1992. In addition to veterans like Juhi and Mithun the film also featured Shantipriya Prem Chopra Kulbhushan Kharbanda Tinnu Anand Nirupa Roy and Shiv Rindani.
The film could not even recover half its budget
Mere Sajna Saath Nibhana was directed by Rajesh Vakil and produced by K. C. Bokadia. The story was written by M. S. Madhu and the dialogue was written by Mehboob Sarwar. The makers made the film on a budget of Rs 1.65 crore. However it only grossed Rs 60.8 lakh in India and even after including worldwide collections the total gross reached Rs 1 crore.
Juhi Chawla – India’s richest actress
Juhi Chawla who debuted in Hindi cinema with the 1986 film Sultanat is not only Bollywoods richest actress but also India’s. The Hurun Rich List 2025 was recently released estimating the actress’s total net worth at Rs 7790 crore. Mithun Chakraborty’s net worth is estimated at approximately Rs 400 crore (4 billion).
