Akshara Singh On Chhath Puja: At present, Jhath is in full swing in Bihar. Chhath festival is also being celebrated in different states of the country. Bhojpuri actress and singer Akshara Singh also observes fast on the festival of Chhath. Questions have been raised about her observing Chhath fast and worshiping without marriage, to which the actress has now answered. While sharing an incident from her childhood, she explained why she fasts.
On the question of Chhath fast and puja, actress Akshara Singh, while talking to news agency ANI, shared an incident from her childhood. He said- ‘I have grown up watching Chhath Puja since childhood and listening to those songs of Sharda Sinha ji. But I came to know its real importance from my mother. What happened once was that Sharda ji had a song – Chugla kare chugli, bilayiya kare meow, this song was being played everywhere. I was 5 years old, at that time I did not know its meaning, and I was laughing and making fun of this song by clapping a lot.
He further said- ‘Then my mother came and angrily asked me what she said. They did not tell me anything about what it meant or not, just that Kalchhun is a vessel in our place, it beat me so much that there was no place left in my body where the red was not lying. He didn’t tell me anything but that beating told me its importance, and since then I carry it with me in my heart.
Akshara Singh further said- ‘Today Mother Chhath has given me so much courage that I have started doing Chhath Puja. I have observed this fast since last year. This is my second year. Now I don’t know, I will do it as long as the sixth mother wants. Many people asked me whether I am married or not and not only outsiders but my own family members also ask me that if I am not married then how are I celebrating Chhath Puja. So I say that boys are not married, then why do they do it? Are worship and faith meant to bind someone in a bond?
Akshara Singh said- ‘I also asked my father logically that if we are doing a puja, will we do it just because I will have a child or will we do this puja so that I will get a husband? Worship and faith are not meant to be bound by any bond. Today we are free to worship with true intentions.
