4 cloves of garlic
1 inch of ginger
1 teaspoon cumin powder
Salt as needed
2 tablespoons coriander leaves

Recipe

- Wash the lentils 3-4 times and soak them in water in a pot. Let them soak for about an hour.
- Drain the water and put them in a blender. Add the garlic cloves, ginger, green chilies, and a little water.
- Blend thoroughly to form a thick and smooth lentil paste. Now, cut the onion into thin, long slices.
- Transfer the lentil paste to a bowl. Add salt, pepper powder, cumin powder, and chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
- Add the chopped onion. Heat mustard oil in a non-stick pan.

- Now, scoop the lentil mixture into the pan with a spoon. Press it down gently, but don't flatten it too much.
- The vada should still be round. Fry all the vadas until they are lightly golden brown and crispy on both sides. Your masoor dal vada is ready.
