Chhath Puja bank holiday 2025: Diwali is over, and the festive season is drawing to a close. However, today, October 27th, Chhath Mahaparva is being celebrated across the country. Tomorrow, October 28th, the Chhath Mahaparva will be celebrated.

Bank Holidays for Chhath Puja
Banks in Kolkata, Patna, and Ranchi will be closed for the evening Arghya on the occasion of Chhath Mahaparva. If you live in these cities, you should avoid going to the bank today. Otherwise, you may face problems. On Tuesday, October 28th, all banks in Bihar and Jharkhand will be closed due to the morning offering of Arghya (offerings) during the Chhath festival.
This means that Bihar and Jharkhand will have a total of two days off. If you are planning to visit the bank today or tomorrow, you should cancel your plans. Digital banking services will remain operational as usual in all three states. You will be able to use these services digitally.
Are banks closed in the capital, Delhi?
The RBI has not announced any bank holiday in Delhi for Chhath Puja. This means that all banks in Delhi will continue to operate as normal on October 27th and 28th.
Bank Holidays in November
Banks will be closed on November 1st for the Kannada Rajyotsav in Bengaluru and Igas-Baghwal in Dehradun. Following this, normal bank operations will be suspended across the country on November 5th due to Guru Nanak Jayanti and Kartik Purnima. Banks will also be closed on November 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th due to Sundays being weekly holidays.
