New Delhi: Thamma, the much-awaited Bollywood entertainer starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, has taken the box office by storm. With big names attached and a powerful production by Maddock Films, Thamma drew huge crowds on its opening days, but its collection has seen sharp ups and downs through its first week.
Here’s a simple and detailed look at how Thamma performed, with all figures cited directly from the industry tracker Sacnilk.
According to Sacnilk, Thamma collected Rs 24 crore across all languages on its first day—a roaring start for a mid-budget Bollywood release. Its second day saw a sharp drop to Rs 18.6 crore, a 22.5 per cent dip, while Day 3 (Thursday) fell further to 1Rs 3 crore, down 30.11 per cent from its debut. “The movie performed well on its first 7 days at the box office and earned an estimated Rs 95.86 crore in India net,” the Sacnilk team reported.
From Friday onward, the collections kept fluctuating. Day 4 (Friday) saw Rs 10 crore, and a weekend bump came on Day 5 (Saturday), bringing in Rs 13.1 crore—“a 31per cent jump” as per Sacnilk data. Sunday’s earnings stood at Rs 12.6 crore. But the following Monday, Day 7, saw a huge drop, collecting just Rs 4.25 crore—a decline of over 66 per cent.
On its eighth day, Thamma earned just Rs 0.13 crore across languages. “This is live data, with only the next 2 hours of advance data included,” Sacnilk notes, signalling that numbers could be updated by 10 PM. The running total for Thamma now stands at Rs 95.68 crore net in India, making it one of 2025’s most notable releases so far.
Thamma is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar. Apart from its lead trio, the cast includes Paresh Rawal and Varun Dhawan. Among Ayushmann Khurrana’s filmography, Thamma is his fifth highest-grossing movie, just behind Dream Girl, Badhaai Ho, Bala, and Dream Girl 2. Rashmika Mandanna’s Hindi hits include Pushpa: The Rule, Chhaava, and Animal, with Thamma now entering her top six Bollywood grosses. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, meanwhile, has achieved his highest personal box office mark with Thamma.
While earnings have declined steeply after a strong weekend, Thamma’s box office journey shows the unpredictable mood of today’s audience. Sacnilk reminds, “The Box Office Data are compiled from various sources and by our own research. These data can be approximate, and Sacnilk does not make any claims about the authenticity of the data”. For industry watchers, Thamma’s performance remains a fascinating case of star power, word-of-mouth, and unpredictable trends colliding at the movies.
