She won the bronze medal by lifting 145 kg in 7 months of pregnancy. Sonika has achieved this feat in the All India Police Weightlifting Cluster 2025-26 organized in Andhra Pradesh.
Sonika is seven months pregnant. In May she came to know that she was going to become a mother. But despite this, Sonika did not stop training. Sonika told that she continued weightlifting training during pregnancy and won the bronze medal in this championship. In the competition, he lifted 125 kg in squats, 80 kg in bench press and then 145 kg in deadlift.
In online research, Sonika found that a woman named Lucy Martins had done the same during her pregnancy. While training during pregnancy, Sonika consulted a doctor to ensure that there was no risk. Her husband fully supported her during this period.
Sonika Yadav is a 2014 batch constable and is currently posted in the Community Policing Cell. Earlier he had worked as a beat officer in Majnu Ka Tila area, where he had done commendable work against drug abuse. Her husband Ankur Bana works in the private sector.
