If you are told that there is such a temple somewhere, where God becomes a groom every day, then you might be shocked. But Thiruvidanthai village of Tamil Nadu is witness to this miracle. Nitya Kalyana Perumal Temple is located here, where Lord Vishnu himself performs marriages every day. This is the reason why this temple is also called “Eternal Marriage Temple” i.e. the temple of eternal marriage. This also provides employment opportunities to the local people and also provides economic strength to the state and the Centre. Especially those people who are unable to get married or who are hoping to get married come here in large numbers.

This temple holds special significance for people suffering from astronomical defects. It is said that worshiping here removes Rahu-Ketu defect, which sometimes causes delay in marriage or marital discord.

This temple is counted among the 108 Divya Deshams of Lord Vishnu, which is the place praised by the Alwar saints. From the architectural point of view, this temple is a wonderful example of the ancient Dravidian style of South India. This temple, which is about 1000 years old, is very important from religious as well as historical point of view. Devotees come here throughout the year, but on festivals like Thaipusam, Brahmotsavam, Vaikuntha Ekadashi and Panguni Utthiram, a huge crowd gathers at the temple. Thousands of devotees come to witness this unique union of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi.

The best time to visit the temple is considered to be between October to February, when the weather is pleasant. It is said that on praying in this temple with a true heart, Lord Vishnu himself fulfills the wishes of the devotees. Obstacles in marriage, desire to have children or problems in marital life are removed.

If there is delay in marriage then do this special puja

The most popular tradition here is Mala Archana Puja. Devotees buy two rosaries and an archana set from the temple. During the puja, the priest has to tell his name, Gotra and Nakshatra. After the completion of the puja, the devotees tie the garland around their waist and do nine pradakshina or circumambulation of the temple. After this the garland is taken down home and kept in the puja room. If your marriage is fixed, then it is considered necessary to visit the temple again before the marriage. This time, puja is done with a new garland and the old garland is kept under the Sthal tree of the temple. It is believed that by doing this, married life remains full of happiness.

mythology

According to the tradition of the temple, Lord Vishnu is present here in the form of Varaha. At the same time, his wife Goddess Lakshmi is worshiped as Komalavalli Thayar. According to the story, a sage Kalva had 360 daughters. As a boon, Lord Varahaswami married a daughter every day for a year. That is why the Lord here is called Nitya Kalyana Perumal i.e. the Lord who marries every day. It is believed that this place is so sacred that all the obstacles in the marriage of those who worship here are removed.
