1. Morning bath and resolution

2. Preparation of the place of worship

3. Worship material

Yellow flowers, Tulsidal, incense, lamp, sandalwood, Panchamrit, naivedya (offering), conch, bell, Akshat, Ganga water, and sweets are required for the puja. Using ghee or sesame oil in the lamp is considered auspicious.

4. Worship of Lord Vishnu

After lighting the lamp, yellow flowers, basil leaves and naivedya are offered to Lord Vishnu. After that Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya mantra is chanted. Many devotees also recite Vishnu Sahasranama Stotra or Geeta on this day.

5. Special action of divine enlightenment

The specialty of Devuthani Ekadashi is to awaken Lord Vishnu from Yoga Nidra. For this, devotees wake up the Lord with the sound of conch, bell or Mridang.
