Rajinikanth and ex-son-in-law Dhanush receive bomb threats; Investigation underway

In shocking news two of the superstars of the South industry — Rajinikanth and his ex-son-in-law Dhanush — received bomb threat emails on Tuesday confirmed the Tamil Nadu police. The message claimed that explosives had been planted at their homes and it was received by the State Director General of Police (DGP) on Monday.
According to the Teynampet police who have jurisdiction over the actors’ residences the first email threatening Rajinikanth was received at around 8:30 a.m. on Monday.
The Teynampet Police Went to Actors After Threats
After receiving the threats the Teynampet police went to Rajinikanth’s house for a security check with a bomb detection and disposal squad. To their relief they were informed by Thalaivas security personnel that no unidentified person had entered his home.
“When we reached out we were told that they do not require the assistance of a bomb squad news agency PTI reported citing a police official.
Police stated that several well-known individuals have received similar threat emails in recent weeks. The Cyber Crime wing has launched an investigation to identify the source of these messages.
“The Cyber Crime police are tracing those emails but the probe is still underway the official added.
Back on October 2 similar emails were sent to the DGP claiming that bombs had been planted at several VIPs’ and officers’ residences which also included the name of actress Trisha Krishnan.
A man was arrested on October 9 2025 in connection with the same. He was allegedly making threat calls to police about planting a bomb at actor and Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay’s Neelankarai residence.
