New Delhi . Indian Navy is going to get new strength soon. Indigenously built survey vessel Ikshak will be inducted into the military fleet on November 6 at Kochi Naval Base. The program will be organized under the chairmanship of Tripathi, where this third ship of survey ships, Ikshak, will be inducted into the Navy. According to the official statement, this project is a milestone towards India’s water survey excellence and indigenization.
The statement said, ‘Ikshak’s induction as the third ship of its category is special. This shows that the Navy is firmly committed to its resolve to create modern and advanced resources. This will give more impetus to efforts for capacity enhancement and self-reliance. The spokesperson said that it has been prepared by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited under the supervision of Directorate of Ship Production and Warship Inspection Team. More than 80 percent indigenous material has been used in Ikshak.

The spokesperson said that Ikshak is the first SVL ship which has special facilities for women. The statement said that Ikshak means guide which is the perfect symbol of the role of this ship. Like its name, this ship will map the unknown maritime areas and become a guide, ensure safe travel of boats and strengthen India’s maritime capabilities. This will significantly increase the strength of the country’s navy.
