Chhattisgarh News: Bhoomi Pujan program was organized in Ambikapur today on the occasion of the birth centenary celebrations of Baba Kartik Oraon, the great educationist, social worker and national leader of the tribal society. On this occasion, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai attended as the chief guest. While paying tribute to Baba Kartik Oraon ji, Chief Minister Sai said that Baba Kartik Oraon is the pride of the society. Despite receiving higher education in foreign countries, he never left his religion, culture and civilization. Following the path shown by his ancestors, he acquired the highest education and gave direction to the society.

Chief Minister Sai said that this statement of Baba Kartik Oraon – “The more you read, the more you will shape the society” – inspires us even today. He dedicated his entire life to the upliftment of tribal society, spread of education and social unity. We should take a pledge for the all-round development of the society by following the path shown by him. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai performed the bhoomi pujan of Baba Kartik Oraon Chowk to be built near the Municipal Corporation office and announced an amount of ₹ 40.79 lakh for the construction of the statue and the chowk. He said that this Chowk will become a symbol of preserving the memory of the ideals, thoughts and contribution of Baba Kartik Oraon.

Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam said that Baba Kartik Oraon is a source of inspiration for us. He dedicated his entire life for the upliftment and development of the society. We need to follow the path shown by him. He inspired the society to move forward by respecting its culture, civilization, tradition and customs. MP Chintamani Maharaj said that Baba Kartik Oraon always gave the message of unity, education and awareness in the society. Today it is necessary that we follow his ideals and path and organize the society and bind it in the thread of unity, so that the tribal society can become strong and self-reliant and play its role in the development of the country. On this occasion, Samari MLA Smt. Udheshwari Paikra, Jashpur MLA Smt. Raimuni Bhagat and a large number of distinguished citizens were present.
