Bihar Assembly Election 2025
The dates for Bihar Assembly elections 2025 have been announced. The Election Commission (EC) on Monday, October 6, announced the dates of by-elections to be held on eight assembly seats of seven states along with Bihar. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar said that elections for 243 seats of Bihar Assembly will be conducted in two phases. The first phase of voting will be held on 6 November and the second phase of voting will be held on 11 November. At the same time, by-elections will also be held on eight assembly seats of Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Telangana, Punjab, Mizoram and Odisha on November 11. The results of Bihar elections and these by-elections will be declared on 14 November.
The Election Commission has made it clear that for voting it is necessary for the voter to have Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) i.e. Voter ID card. But if a voter does not have a Voter ID, then he can cast his vote by carrying any valid ID proof given below.
The Election Commission has also clarified that the photo voter slip cannot be used only as identification, that is, voting cannot be done with it alone. Let us tell you that the tenure of the current Bihar Assembly is ending on 22 November 2025. There are a total of 243 assembly seats in the state, out of which 38 are reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC) and 2 for Scheduled Tribes (ST). This time the Election Commission is implementing many new techniques and rules for the convenience of the voters so that the voting process can be made transparent and smooth.
