As Paresh Rawals film The Taj Story is set to release on the big screens the actor and his film have faced constant backlash for the content. Now the movie has also landed in controversy after two Public Interest Litigations (PILs) were filed against it. Amid the huge hullabaloo Paresh Rawal finally broke his silence. The actor claimed that the films director Tushar Amrish Goel did thorough research and there is nothing hanky-panky in it.
He also refuted the rumours surrounding the PIL clarifying that it wasn’t filed to halt the film’s release. He further stated that there was no intention of sparking a Hindu-Muslim controversy.
In an interview with NDTV Paresh said “Tushar (the director) came with amazing research. There is nothing hanky-panky in it. His sources were clearly mentioned and I even checked with friends who confirmed the facts. From the very beginning we made sure there would be no Hindu-Muslim jingoism in this film.”
Adding to this the actor said “Theres even a dialogue in the film where a character says Brother its you journalists who make everything about Hindu and Muslim. Theres no Hindu-Muslim conflict here. This is about shared history.’”
He concluded by saying “When someone says ‘What should we do with this?’ another replies ‘Break it.’ Then a character says ‘No brother were not the ones who destroy. Not even a scratch should come to it. Every problem cannot be solved by breaking or destroying things. Sometimes acceptance itself is a big thing.’”
Coming to The Taj Story the movie is set to release on October 31 2025. Apart from Paresh Rawal the movie also features Zakir Hussain in a key role.
