As Shah Rukh Khan turns 60 on November 2, fans from around the world are gearing up to celebrate the milestone of Bollywood’s King Khan. Every year, thousands of admirers line up outside his iconic Mumbai residence, Mannat, hoping to catch a glimpse of the superstar as he waves from his balcony. But this year, things might be a little different. According to reports, Mannat is currently undergoing a major renovation and expansion, which began in May 2025. The extensive makeover is expected to take almost two more years to complete. With that, Shah Rukh’s usual birthday ritual of greeting fans from the balcony might not happen this time. The superstar himself gave a major update on this during his recent #AskSRK session on X (formerly Twitter).
Will SRK come to Mannat to greet fans?
Unleashing his witty charm, SRK interacted with fans on social media. When one user asked, “Sir, apke birthday ke liye Mumbai pahaunch gaye hain... lekin room nahi mil rahi. Mannat pe ek room milega kya sir?” Shah Rukh playfully replied, “Mannat mein toh mere paas bhi room nahi hai aaj kal... Bhaade pe reh raha hoon!”
In another exchange, a fan asked if he would be greeting fans from Mannat’s balcony this year. SRK responded, “Of course, but may have to wear a hard hat!!!”, confirming that construction work is indeed in full swing.
Currently, the Khan family, Shah Rukh, Gauri, Suhana, Aryan, and AbRam, are reportedly residing at Puja Casa, a luxurious apartment building located in the upscale Pali Hill area of Bandra. The property is owned by producer Vashu Bhagnani’s children, Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshika Deshmukh.
As per a report by ETimes, the actor will mark his 60th birthday away from the Mannat crowds this year. Instead, he is expected to host an intimate celebration with close family and friends at his Alibaug residence. Invitations have reportedly already been sent out, with guests expected to arrive from November 1 onwards for the private gathering.
On SRK's upcoming projects
Meanwhile, on the professional front, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his next ambitious project, King, directed by Siddharth Anand, who earlier helmed Pathaan. The action thriller will see SRK share screen space with his daughter Suhana Khan, alongside Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, and several others. The film, backed by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, is expected to be released in late 2026 or early 2027.
Adding to the excitement, reports suggest that the first look of King might be unveiled on his birthday, a fitting gift for fans who have been eagerly waiting to see what’s next for the Badshah of Bollywood. Even though Mannat’s gates might stay closed for public celebrations this year, one thing’s for sure, Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday will still be nothing short of royal, just like the man himself.
