SS Rajamouli’s two Baahubali movies are re-releasing in theatres this weekend as one 3 hours and 44 minutes movie Baahubali: The Epic.
Ahead of the Friday release, Baahubali: The Epic has scored record-breaking advance booking in Telugu states which means the SS Rajamouli directorial starring Prabhas and Rana Daggubati may create new opening day records for re-released films beating Sanam Teri Kasam.

Amid that, there is also a buzz that with the addition of the re-release biz, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion may finally take top spot at India as well as worldwide box office. However, that won’t be the case even if it does record-breaking business at the box office. Here’s why…
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion Will Stay Behind Dangal & Pushpa 2 At The Box OfficeAt the all-India box office, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017) made a total of Rs 1344 crore making it the top grosser of all time domestically.
However, in 2024, Sukumar’s Pushpa 2: The Rule starring Allu Arjun released in theatres and broke several records and became the top domestic grosser beating Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. It eventually made Rs 1374 crore in India.

Now, Pushpa 2: The Rule is just Rs 30 crore ahead of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and doing Rs 30 crore biz for Baahubali: The Epic re-release seems to be cake walk at the moment.
But, the biz by Baahubali: The Epic won’t be added to Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’s original box office for simple reason that the re-release is actually a recut and re-edited version of the original two Baahubali movies i.e The Beginning and The Conclusion.
So, adding the re-release business of two films combined to Baahubali 2 doesn’t really make sense.
Similarly, the biggest worldwide grosser of Indian cinema is Nitesh Tiwari’s Dangal starring Aamir Khan which is Rs 170 crore ahead of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’s global biz.

Here’s as well, the same logic applies, Baahubali: The Epic re-release business is Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion combined. Hence, adding it to just one film and making it compete with Dangal is illogical.
So, despite the potential record-breaking re-release biz of Baahubali: The Epic, the box office records set by Pushpa 2: The Rule and Dangal remain safe.
Baahubali: The Epic releases in theatres on October 31, 2025.
