            CBSE Date Sheet 2026 Released:
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced the final timetable for the Class 10 and Class 12 Board Exams 2026. According to the notification, the examinations will begin from February 17, 2026, with Class 12 exams concluding on March 10, and Class 10 exams continuing until April 9, 2026.
For the first time ever, CBSE has released the board exam schedule 110 days before the commencement of the exams, ensuring students have ample time to prepare thoroughly. The complete subject-wise date sheet is now available on the official website — cbse.gov.in.
Class 12 Exams: February 17 to March 10, 2026
Class 10 Exams: February 17 to April 9, 2026
Exam Timing: Mostly scheduled from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, with some sessions ending by 12:30 PM depending on the subject.
The early release of the date sheet marks a significant step by the education board to reduce exam stress and allow students to plan their studies more effectively.
In its official circular, CBSE highlighted that the 2026 date sheet was designed after analyzing registration data from Classes 9 and 11 and considering several academic and logistical factors. These include:
Adequate Gap Between Major Papers:
Students appearing for both Classes 10 and 12 will have enough preparation time between two core subjects, reducing pressure during the exam season.
Coordination with Entrance Exams:
The Class 12 board exams have been scheduled to conclude before major national-level entrance tests such as JEE Main and NEET, allowing students to focus better on both academic goals.
Teacher Availability During Evaluation:
The timetable ensures that teachers from all subjects do not remain away from their schools for prolonged periods, helping maintain a smooth academic calendar during the evaluation phase.
Avoiding Subject Overlaps:
CBSE carefully examined over 40,000 subject combinations to ensure that no student has two exams scheduled on the same day.
This year, nearly 45 lakh students from India and 26 other countries are expected to appear in the board examinations across 204 subjects. Alongside written exams, practical assessments and evaluations will be conducted on schedule to ensure that results are released on time.
The board has also clarified that answer sheet evaluations will begin approximately 10 days after each subject’s exam and are expected to be completed within 12 days — aiming for a smooth and timely declaration of results.
This early announcement gives students and schools a clear roadmap to plan revision sessions, mock tests, and practical exams efficiently. The 110-day gap before exams begins also encourages a more structured and stress-free preparation phase.
Education experts have welcomed CBSE’s proactive approach, calling it a “student-centric decision” that reflects a growing emphasis on academic planning and mental well-being.
