Srinagar: J&K lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha has terminated two more government employees for their alleged involvement in anti-national activities. The employees, terminated under Article 311 (2) (c) of the Constitution, are Ghulam Hussain and Majid Iqbal Dar, both serving as teachers in the education department.
J&K CM Omar Abdullah said the termination process should be done through court. "Everyone deserves a chance to present their clarification. If someone is found guilty, action should be taken, but innocent employees should not be punished," Abdullah said at a function here.
The orders issued by the administration stated that the lieutenant governor was satisfied that after considering the facts and circumstances of the case and on the basis of the information available that their activities are such as to warrant their dismissal from service under Article 311 (2) (c). "In the interest of the security of the state it is not expedient to hold an inquiry," read the orders.
At least 82 government employees' services have been terminated since 2021, when the J&K administration constituted a task force to scrutinise employees suspected of terror activities, requiring action under Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution.
