In fact, China announced on Thursday that it will send a Pakistani astronaut on a short journey as part of its space station mission. According to Chinese state news agency Xinhua, two Pakistani astronauts will undergo rigorous training with Chinese taikonauts, then one will be selected as a ‘special scientific payload specialist’ for the upcoming mission. This will be Pakistan’s first participation in manned space travel, which is being made possible with the cooperation of China’s Manned Space Agency (CMSA).

Let us tell you that earlier this year, Pakistan’s space agency, Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) had signed a historic agreement with CMSA. Under this agreement, Pakistani travelers will get professional training at China’s Space Center, so that they can be prepared for special experiments at Tiangong Station.

The selected passengers will participate in scientific tests in various fields such as micro-gravity research, biology, medicine, space engineering, material science and astronomy. These experiments conducted in Tiangong’s high-tech labs are expected to make a major contribution to the development of health science, climate monitoring and space technology.

China has clearly said that the Tiangong Space Station is equipped with modern labs and external payload adapters, which makes research possible in many science fields simultaneously. The official objective of this mission is to strengthen partnerships in space-based science that benefit Earth through innovations in medical research and environmental studies.
