When it comes to kitchen gardening, growing vegetables yourself has now become a new trend. With this, you get rid of chemical-laden vegetables and secondly, you get fresh and safe vegetables sitting at home.
If you have a green chilli plant on your balcony or terrace but it is not producing flowers or chillies, then do not worry. Today we are going to tell you about two such household things which when mixed in the soil increases the growth of the green chilli plant manifold, and within a few weeks the plant becomes laden with green chillies.
proper soil preparation
For the green chilli plant to bear fruits quickly, the first thing that is necessary is proper preparation of the soil. The soil should be light, friable and capable of draining water. If you are planting a plant in a pot, then mix 40% cow dung manure, 30% sand and 30% clay in the garden soil. This provides both air and moisture to the roots of the plant. Green peppers love sunlight. Therefore, keep the plant in a place where it gets direct sunlight for at least 5–6 hours a day. During cold weather, keep the plant near a window inside the house so that it keeps getting warmth.
1. Mustard Cake Fertilizer
Mustard cake works as a natural energy booster for plants. It is rich in nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, which increase both flowers and fruits. Soak 2 spoons of mustard cake in one liter of water and keep it for 24 hours. After this add it to the plant once a week.
2. Banana Peel Fertilizer
Banana peel contains calcium, potassium and phosphorus, which strengthens the roots of the plant and increases its ability to bear fruit. Cut banana peels into small pieces and mix them with soil or dry them in the sun and make powder. Pour it over the soil every 10–12 days. By using these two things, not only does the plant grow faster but it also produces so many chillies that one has to take out a basket full of them.
Do these 4 important things while taking care of plants
1. Water the plant a little every day, but take care that water does not stagnate in the pot.
2. Mix neem oil and soap water and sprinkle it. It does not cause insects.
3. When the plant starts budding, avoid giving excess fertilizer or water.
4. Cut dry or yellow leaves of the plant every 4-5 days so that new shoots can grow.
