This update will be important because people can control the content that appears in their feed, making the browsing experience more personal. This feature will be available to users in the settings in a new section called ‘Your Algorithm’. Where users can view and manage topics that influence their recommendations. Users can select new favorite topics by clicking the Add+ button, or you can choose to see less content on such topics. This feature can be used only after users are logged in to their account. Initially this algorithm customization will be available only for reels. That means users will be able to fine-tune their reels feed. The update is a major effort by Instagram to give users more control, including already introduced features like parental tools, sensitive content limits and better filtering.
