American Horror Story season 13 has confirmed its cast will include pop star Ariana Grande and a host of franchise regulars.

The two-time Grammy Award winner now known for portraying Glinda in the musical films Wicked and its upcoming sequel will head up the series alongside an all-star cast.

While she's not appeared in the hit horror anthology before, she has worked with its creator Ryan Murphy in the cult favourite series Scream Queens, which began 10 years ago and ran for two seasons.

Grande joins several cast members announced this Halloween, including Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe and Leslie Grossman.

The official cast was confirmed on Murphy's Instagram account with a cryptic video set to Vera Lynn's rendition of I'll Be Seeing You.

American Horror Story's next season will follow the Kim Kardashian-starring Delicate, which aired from September 2023 until April 2024.

Fans have since begun speculating that the 13th outing could be its last and return to a previous storyline.

It's set to premiere on FX in exactly a year's time, 31st October, 2026.

Countless fans have already taken to social media to share their excitement, with one X user posting: "Ariana Grande will be in AHS season 13!!! What a Halloween treat!"

Another exclaimed: "ariana in AHS alongside all the iconic actresses that carried the series... y'all IM GAGGING-"

And an especially excited Ariana fan wrote: "Ariana Grande is about to be that girl yet again in the next 12 months.

"She can essentially win an Emmy (Wicked TV special, AHS 13), an Oscar (Wicked), and another Grammy (Brighter Days Ahead MV, any ES deluxe nomination).

"She would only need the Tony to become an EGOT. She's been that girl and I will be seated for each of her projects."
