Lucknow: UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy: Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, known as the City of Nawabs, has been recognized by UNESCO as the Creative City of Gastronomy. This honor is given to those cities which become a source of inspiration globally for their food traditions, cultural diversity and innovation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath have congratulated the people of the state on this important achievement.
Prime Minister Modi wrote in a post on Saturday, “Lucknow is a symbol of a vibrant culture, which includes an amazing culinary art. I am happy that UNESCO has recognized this specialty of Lucknow and I urge everyone to visit Lucknow and experience its unique culture.” Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, ‘Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s culture and traditions are getting global recognition. Hearty congratulations to the people of the state on this historic achievement!
Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat wrote, “Lucknow has been recognized as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, a tribute to its unique culinary heritage and its contribution to the rich culinary traditions of India. This enhances Lucknow’s global identity and makes it a premier destination for food and culture.”
Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister Jai Veer Singh said, “This is a proud moment for Uttar Pradesh! Lucknow has attracted the world’s attention with its unique identity. UNESCO has recognized it as the Creative City of Gastronomy, which is not only a recognition of Lucknow’s rich tradition but also a new chapter for tourism in Uttar Pradesh.”
