Securing and accessing chat backups with just one click, fingerprint, or face recognition has become incredibly easy.

WhatsApp has gradually begun rolling out this passkey-based encryption feature to all users. Previously, users needed a 64-digit password to secure chat backups, which was challenging to remember. But now the Passkey system is going to eliminate this hassle.

Now, whenever you save your chat backups to Google Drive or iCloud, there will be no need to create a separate password. The passkey feature will be directly linked to your device and will verify your identity via fingerprint, Face ID, or screen lock. This way, you won't have to remember your password, nor will you worry about losing your backup if you forget it.

This new WhatsApp feature further strengthens its existing end-to-end encryption system. The biggest advantage of this system is that only you and the other person can read or listen to your messages and calls, not WhatsApp itself. Now, the passkey feature extends this security to backups, so that even if you lose your phone or get a new device, your chats remain completely safe.

Activating this feature is also very simple. You simply need to go to WhatsApp's settings and select Chats → Chat Backup → End-to-End Encrypted Backup. The system will then activate automatically.

WhatsApp has stated that this new feature will provide users with an experience that combines security and convenience. No more worrying about remembering passwords or worrying about data loss. Just one tap away from backup and guaranteed complete security.
