On Monday the 2017 Miss Universe Vietnam, H’Hen Nie, published a post on Facebook saying: “I apologize for the recent images and story about my husband and me that have upset many people. I also apologize to the men and their families in the video and hope everyone will accept this sincere apology from me and Khoi.”

On Nov. 1 Tuan Khoi, her husband, posted a video of himself taking a bottle of his wife’s breast milk from the refrigerator to make coffee and share with his friends.
She reposted the video with the caption: “Khoi is so mischievous. I hope the guys are still sober enough to work.”
It is not clear what she meant about the sobriety, but the video drew more than one million views and literally thousands of comments criticizing it as “offensive and inappropriate both medically and culturally.”
Khoi later deleted it from his personal page.
H’Hen Nie said her husband had seen a similar video made by a foreigner online and tried to recreate it.
In her apology, H’Hen Nie said she and her husband are first-time parents and still learning, and discussed and drew lessons from the experience after the incident.
“I hope people can give gentler feedback so Khoi can continue improving as a husband and father.”
The couple often post photos and videos about their life as new parents, which have drawn widespread attention on social media.
