ICC ranking: In the final at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, Team India defeated South Africa by 52 runs to win the World Cup for the first time. The Women in Blue are ranked third with 126 rating points in the most recent team rankings released by ICC after the conclusion of the Women’s World Cup 2025.

With 163 rating points, 37 more than second-place England, Australia is still far ahead of the pack and remains at the top of the standings. Curiously, although having the same rating points as India, England is ranked higher in second place because decimal points are not shown while discussing the ratings.

Notably, Australia and England secured the top two spots in the Women’s World Cup points standings, but they were eliminated after losing to South Africa and India in their respective semi-finals. With 99 rating points, runners-up South Africa, captained by Laura Wolvaardt, who at one time had a five-match winning streak at the World Cup, are in fourth position.

How about other groups?

After losing to India in the league stage, New Zealand, who are now in fifth place, was devastated not to advance to the semifinals. Rain severely hampered their campaign by spoiling the majority of their games and canceling two of their games in Colombo. Even their captain, Sophie Devine, took issue with the way the games were scheduled in the city, even though it rained a lot in October.

Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka are ranked sixth, seventh, and eighth, respectively, while the West Indies, who were not present at the just finished World Cup, are ranked ninth.
