Ingredients
100 grams of flour
A little ghee
1 cup of mawa
2 teaspoons of gram flour
1/4 cup of ground almonds
1/4 cup of ground pistachio nuts
Saffron seeds soaked in milk
1/2 teaspoon of cardamom
Powdered sugar
Recipe
First, heat a pan over medium heat and add the well-mashed mawa.
When the mawa is slightly warm, transfer it to a separate bowl. This will take about 3-4 minutes.
Now, add ghee to the pan and, after a while, add the gram flour. As soon as the flour begins to color, add the almond powder and mix well.
When the almonds begin to roast, add the pistachio almond powder. Take a pan and pour the heated mawa and pistachio stuffing into it.
To add color and flavor, sprinkle the soaked saffron and cardamom over it and mix well.
Adding sugar to the hot stuffing causes the mawa to melt, so knead the flour while the stuffing cools.
Add a teaspoon of ghee to 100 grams of flour and add water little by little to make a soft dough. After the mawa stuffing cools, add sugar to it.
Heat 4 teaspoons of ghee in a vessel and keep it in the refrigerator. This will be used to coat the sweet.
Now, take a small round bowl and pour the stuffing into it, and shape it properly. Similarly, make separate round shapes for the puri stuffing and roll the flour into small rotis.
Now place the stuffing in the flour and seal it into the shape of a modak. Prepare all the pieces in this manner and heat ghee in a pan on one side.
Make sure the ghee is not too hot and the flame is medium. Now add one piece and fry it until it turns slightly golden.
Don't fry it too much, as it will spoil the taste. Once you've fried all the pieces, take out the ghee from the refrigerator and mix it with powdered sugar. Apply it evenly all over the pieces and garnish with pistachios and almonds.
