The health camps conducted under the State Government’s ‘Swasth Nari Sakhat Parivar’ campaign have revealed the reality of women’s health in the state. So far 1 crore 51 lakh 10 thousand women have been examined and a large number of patients with cancer, anemia, diabetes and high blood pressure have been found. In the examination of 54 lakh 47 thousand women, 10 thousand suspected patients were found, of which 1,750 women were biopsied. Of these, 234 women were found to have cervical cancer. Nagpur, Buldhana, Pune, Solapur and Nashik districts have the highest number of these types of patients. Among them, 17 thousand 618 women were suspected of oral cancer. Nagpur district reported the highest number of suspected cases at 3,744, while Buldhana (1,269) and Amravati (1,460) districts also have an alarming number of cases.
Out of 2,349 biopsy samples from these camps, 841 women were diagnosed with oral cancer. Out of 565 suspected patients in Nashik district, 34 people were found to have cancer. 82 lakh 51 thousand women were screened for breast cancer in the state. Among them, 12,286 women were suspected. Breast cancer patients were examined at 38 thousand 279 centers, 82 lakh 51 thousand women were examined for breast cancer.
