Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan is once again making headlines. Earlier the actor was reportedly linked to illegally importing cars. Now the Pathanamthitta Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in Kerala has issued a notice to the Lokah actor ordering him to appear in person on December 3rd. The case relates to the Rose Brand Biryani Rice for which Dulquer is the brand ambassador. The petition seeks compensation of Rs 5 lakh the price of the rice (Rs 10250) and court costs. The Commission has ordered all three accused in the case to appear before the Commission on December 3rd to file their responses.
Why is Dulquer Salmaan making headlines?
The action stems from a complaint from a catering firm owner who claimed that wedding guests suffered food poisoning after eating biryani made with this rice. Dulquer has been named as the third accused because his advertisements allegedly misled consumers.
