Mirzapur Train Accident: News of train accidents is being heard one after another. Most recently, several people died in the Jodhpur train accident. Following this, 11 passengers died and 20 were injured in the Bilaspur train accident. A major train accident has occurred at Chunar Railway Station in Mirzapur district, Uttar Pradesh. According to preliminary information, several passengers died while crossing the railway tracks.
According to information received so far, 3 to 4 people died on the spot in this accident. Administrative officials are on the scene and conducting relief and rescue operations. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also taken cognizance of the incident and has ordered an acceleration of relief efforts.
According to information received, all these pilgrims had disembarked from the Chopan-Prayagraj passenger train on platform number four. While hurrying to cross the railway tracks at the station, they were struck by an express train (Kalka Mail) coming from the opposite direction.
This tragic accident occurred while they were crossing the railway tracks. All the devotees were going to take a bath in the Ganga. Following this incident, chaos prevailed at Chunar Railway Station. Railway officials and police on the spot began relief operations. The administration has appealed to passengers to use the platform and overbridge for their own safety.
People present at the scene say that the collision was so severe that the bodies were torn to pieces. The accident caused widespread screaming and crying. The injured have been rushed to the hospital. The bodies are being sent for post-mortem examination. Senior officials are on the scene to assess the situation.
