NEW DELHI: India’s Abhishek Sharma continues to hold the top spot among T20I batters in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings. The left-hander had a standout run in the Asia Cup 2025 and is repeating the same form in the ongoing T20I series against Australia.

Pakistan’s home series triumph over South Africa has particularly influenced the rankings, reflecting their strong form ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Pakistan players make gains

Pakistan’s 2-1 series victory against South Africa has rewarded multiple players with significant jumps in the T20I batter rankings. Captain Babar Azam rose nine spots to 30th, while Saim Ayub and Salman Agha moved up 10 positions each, now ranked 39th and 54th respectively. These gains highlight Pakistan’s consistent form in 2025, having won four out of five bilateral series this year.

Other batters making notable progress include West Indies captain Shai Hope, who moved up to 12th, Bangladesh’s Tanzid Hasan to 17th, and Afghanistan duo Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran to 15th and 20th respectively. The rankings reflect how players are consolidating their performances ahead of major tournaments.

Bowlers on the rise

The latest T20I bowler rankings also feature some standout improvements. India’s Varun Chakravarthy retains his top position, while Australia’s Josh Hazlewood moved up two spots to 10th after strong displays against India. Bangladesh’s Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Mahedi Hasan climbed to 14th and 17th, while West Indies’ Jason Holder and Roston Chase rose to 23rd and 38th.

South Africa’s Corbin Bosch also drew attention by rising 15 places to 38th after emerging as the leading wicket-taker against Pakistan. Salman Mirza and Faheem Ashraf similarly improved to 45th and 51st, moving up from outside the top 100.

All-Rounders and ODI Rankings

The all-rounders’ rankings saw Sikandar Raza and Roston Chase make notable jumps to second and third respectively, while Saim Ayub retained the top position. Raza’s explosive century off 33 balls, the joint-second fastest in men’s T20Is, emphasized his ability to dominate matches.

The ODI rankings also saw changes, with New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell rising to third among batters after scoring 178 runs in their 3-0 series sweep against England. Rachin Ravindra moved to 14th with 117 runs across the three matches. England’s Jofra Archer improved to third among bowlers, trailing only Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan.
