Cleaning oven glass isn't usually at the top of our cleaning to-do lists, meaning that grease stains and baked-on food splatters can linger for weeks or even months. When you finally get around to it, the task of cleaning the oven can prove to be a tricky job.

However, the trick is knowing how to do it quickly and effectively. Taking to his TikTok page @probablywothsharing, Marko has shared his go-to method for cleaning an oven door, and "it only takes five minutes", he claimed. Showing viewers his stained oven door, then completely clean, Marko revealed that "all you need" is baking soda.

For this method, sprinkle baking soda onto the oven glass, just enough to completely cover the door.

The next step is to grab a wet sponge and rub it all over the glass. This will turn the baking soda into an effective cleaning paste.

Make sure to add more water if it doesn't turn into a paste.

The baking soda tends to clump together, so try your best to evenly spread it across the glass door.

Leave the baking soda paste to sit on the oven glass for five minutes. Marko said, "After five minutes, you should be able to remove most of the grime with a quick and easy scrub with the sponge."

However, if there are any stubborn spots, add some more baking soda as it "acts like a mild abrasive to remove the grease".

The final step is to simply dry off the oven door, and it'll "look brand new".

Baking soda is a natural, gentle abrasive that can scrub away stains, grease, and grime accumulated on the oven door.

It also soaks up stains as the powder transitions from bright white to a brown mess during cleaning. This is the baking soda drawing out those brown stains from the glass oven door.

While utilising baking soda requires a bit more time and effort than using an oven cleaner, it certainly gets the job done, and without any harmful chemicals.
