Rovman Powell becomes second WI player with 2,000 T20I runs

West Indies dasher Rovman Powell has added another feather to his cap, completing 2,000 runs in T20I cricket.

Powell reached the landmark in the 1st T20I against New Zealand at Eden Park, Auckland. He slammed a 23-ball 33, helping WI beat the Kiwis by seven runs.

Notably, Powell became the second WI player with 2,000 runs in the format.

He is only behind Nicholas Pooran, who retired from international cricket with 2,275 runs.

Powell now has 2,010 runs from 103 T20Is at a strike rate of 140.95. He is one of the few WI players with a T20I ton (9 half-centuries).
