In Hindu religion, Lord Ganesha is considered the first worshipable deity. Any auspicious work starts with the worship of Lord Ganesha. Chaturthi date of every month is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Chaturthi of Krishna Paksha of Aghan or Margashirsha month is called Ganadhip Sankashti Chaturthi. Special worship and fasting of Lord Ganesha on this day has great importance. It is believed that by observing this fast with devotion and regularly, all the troubles and sorrows of life go away. Happiness, prosperity and good fortune are attained.
Let us tell you that in the year 2025, Ganadheep Sankashti Chaturthi will be celebrated on 8th November. On this day, there is a special rule of observing fast, worshiping Lord Ganesha and offering Arghya to the moon at night. Therefore, it will be auspicious to observe fast and worship on 8th November. Chaturthi Tithi will start on November 8 at 07:32 am, while Chaturthi Tithi will end on November 9 at 04:25 am. At the same time, the time of moonrise (moon darshan) will be after 08:01 pm.
1. Bath and resolution: Take bath in the morning and wear clean clothes. Clean the place of worship and take a pledge to fast with water, flowers and Akshat in your hand.
2. Ganesh Sthapana: Spread a red cloth on a stool and place the idol or picture of Lord Ganesha.
3. Pooja Samagri: Offer Roli, Akshat, Durva grass, flowers, sandalwood and garland to Lord Ganesha.
4. Enjoyment: Offer modak or laddu, because it is very dear to Lord Ganesha.
5. Lessons and Mantras: Read Ganesh Chalisa or Sankashti Chaturthi Vrat Katha and chant the mantra “Om Gan Ganpataye Namah”.
6. Fasting: Keep a fruit or water fast throughout the day.
7. Pooja after moonrise: When the moon rises at night, perform the Aarti of Lord Ganesha again and offer Arghya to the moon by mixing water, milk and Akshat.
8. Breaking the fast: Break the fast only after seeing the moon and eat satvik food.
Ganadheep Sankashti Chaturthi has been said to be a fast that removes troubles. By worshiping Lord Ganesha on this day, all obstacles end and brings happiness and peace in life.
