Voter Helpline App: Voting for the first phase of Bihar assembly elections has started. In this phase, voting is being held on 121 seats in 18 districts. Crowds of voters are being seen at many polling stations since morning. In this great festival of democracy, every vote is important, hence it is very important to keep some important things in mind before casting your vote.

Please check your name before casting your vote.

Your vote will be counted only when your name is registered in the voter list. Therefore, before reaching the polling station, make sure that your name is present in the list. If you want to check whether your name is in the voter list or not, then it can be checked sitting at home in some easy ways.

How to check your name in voter list sitting at home

If you want to get information about your name and polling booth then just download Voter Helpline App in your mobile. In this app, you can enter your assembly constituency and name to see whether you are in the voter list or not. Apart from this, you can also get your voting details, booth location and constituency information by visiting the National Voters Service Portal (NVSP). This portal is operated by the Election Commission of India and is completely secure.

With which identity cards can one vote?

If you do not have a Voter Identity Card (EPIC), you can still vote on the basis of any one of the documents given below:

  • Passport
  • driving license
  • Photo ID card issued by Central or State Government, PSUs or Public Limited Company
  • pan card
  • Aadhar card
  • Passbook issued by bank or post office
  • MNREGA job card
  • Health Insurance Card issued by the Ministry of Labor
  • Pension Card (with photo and attested)
  • National Population Register (NPR) smart card
  • Official identity card issued by a Member of Parliament (MP), MLA (MLA) or Member of the Legislative Council (MLC)
  • Unique Disability ID (UDID) card issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment
