Good news for Snapchat users, Snapchat and Perplexity have come together. According to Snapchat, starting next year, i.e. 2026, Snapchat users will have AI integrated into their chat options, allowing them to interact. Snapchat has 943 million users in more than 25 countries. A large number of users are in the age group of 13 to 34. Additionally, there are reports that Perplexity’s Comet has started rolling out to some Android users.
Snapchat has yet to integrate any major AI. So users have to exit the app to use the AI tools. This problem will no longer exist. Starting next year, Snapchat users will be able to interact with Perplexity’s AI in the chat box. The deal will give Perplexity $400 million to Snapchat and help Perplexity expand its user base.
One of Snapchat’s biggest strengths is its popularity among the youth. More than 75 percent of youth ages 13 to 34 use Snapchat in more than 25 countries, the company says. Commenting on the deal, Arvind Srinivas, CEO of Perplexity, said that bringing Perplexity to Snapchat will complement the interest generated in the app. Snapchat also says that this will improve the search experience on Snapchat. “We look forward to working with more such partners in the future.”
It is also reported that Perplexity’s Comet browser is rolling out to some registered Android users. This browser is already available for Mac users. Perplexity’s Comet browser will compete with Google’s Chrome browser. Comet is a fully AI browser. The arrival of Comet on Android means that you will be able to use it on your smartphones and tablets in the future. If this really happens, a large number of people may turn to AI browsers.
