Parag Parikh Flexi Cap and Quant Small Cap among 12 equity mutual funds to offer over 20% CAGR in 3, 5, 7 years

An ETMutualFunds analysis revealed that 12 equity mutual funds, including Parag Parikh Flexicap, Quant Smallcap, HDFC Midcap, and Nippon India Smallcap Fund, consistently delivered over 20% CAGR across three, five, and seven-year periods. The study covered 177 equity funds with over seven years of track record, excluding hybrid, sectoral, and thematic schemes. Quant Smallcap Fund and Invesco India Midcap Fund emerged as top performers across timeframes.

12 mutual funds deliver over 20% CAGR across 3, 5, and 7 years
Around 12 equity mutual funds have offered over 20% CAGR in the last three, five, and seven-year period, an analysis by ETMutualFunds showed. These 12 funds include some prominent names such as Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund, Quant Small Cap Fund, HDFC Mid Cap Fund, Nippon India Small Cap Fund, and Motilal Oswal Midcap Fund.

ETMutualFunds analysed the performance of 177 equity mutual funds which have completed seven years of existence in the market.

DSP Small Cap Fund, a smallcap fund, offered over 20% CAGR in the last three, five, and seven years. Edelweiss Mid Cap Fund delivered 24.28%, 28.88%, and 22.54% CAGR in the last three, five, and seven years respectively.



Two midcap funds — HDFC Mid Cap Fund and Invesco India Midcap Fund — offered over 20% CAGR in the mentioned time periods. Another fund by Invesco Mutual Fund — Invesco India Smallcap Fund — gave 25.50% CAGR in the last three years, 31.24% CAGR in the last five years, and 23.03% CAGR in the last seven years.

Three other midcaps — Kotak Midcap Fund, Mahindra Manulife Mid Cap Fund, and Motilal Oswal Midcap Fund — also featured in the above-mentioned list by offering over 20% CAGR in the mentioned time periods.

The midcap and smallcap funds from Nippon India Mutual Fund — Nippon India Growth Mid Cap Fund and Nippon India Small Cap Fund — offered over 20% CAGR in the mentioned time periods. Nippon India Small Cap Fund is the largest smallcap fund based on the assets managed.

Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund, the largest active fund and flexicap fund based on assets managed, gave 21.65%, 22.29%, and 20.65% CAGR in the last three, five, and seven years respectively.

Among these 12 funds, Quant Small Cap Fund was the last fund in the list to offer over 20% CAGR in the said time periods.

In the last three years, among these 12 funds, Invesco India Midcap Fund offered the highest CAGR of 27.24%. In the last five and seven years, Quant Small Cap Fund has offered the highest CAGR of 33.62% and 26% respectively.

We considered all equity mutual funds excluding equity-oriented hybrid, sectoral, and thematic funds. We considered the funds that have completed seven years of existence. We considered regular and growth options.

Note, the above exercise is not a recommendation. The exercise was done to identify the funds that have been consistent and offered over 20% CAGR in the last three, five, and seven years.

There were many funds which gave over 20% CAGR in either one or two horizons but we considered only those funds which have offered over 20% CAGR in all three horizons.
