New Delhi. Many foreign companies are ready to make fighter aircraft for the Indian Air Force in India. Actually, 114 aircraft are to be purchased for the Indian Air Force. For this, the government has set the condition of Make in India, but this is a big deal which every country wants to achieve. So far, three countries Russia, France and Sweden have proposed to manufacture aircraft in India.
According to sources, although the government has not yet held talks with any country regarding the deal, but three countries have so far proposed to the government to manufacture fighter aircraft in India under Make in India. Russia is at the forefront in this. In fact, Russia’s Sukhoi-57 also fits into the fifth generation multirole aircraft required by the Air Force.
Russia is ready to make this aircraft in India. Anyway, HAL already has the facility to manufacture Sukhoi. Secondly, France’s Dassault Aviation is ready to manufacture Rafale aircraft in India. Actually, 36 Rafale aircraft were purchased for the Air Force in the past. Now the Navy has ordered the purchase of 26 aircraft.
Sweden’s Saab ready to make Gripen
According to sources, Swedish company Saab is also ready to manufacture its fighter aircraft Gripen in India. Saab is already manufacturing defense equipment in India. At the same time, Airbus is manufacturing transport aircraft for the Air Force in India in collaboration with Tata Sons. Airbus jointly produces Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft.
America has not opened its cards
There is also a proposal from America to purchase F-35 fighter aircraft, but America has not yet opened its cards for manufacturing in India. There was a lot of speculation about India purchasing Sukhoi-57 but Rafale is being considered a better option. There is also pressure to purchase F-35.
