MUMBAI: Bollywood stars Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal announced that they have been blessed with a baby boy, marking a new chapter for one of India’s most beloved celebrity couples.

The couple, who married in December 2021, announced the news on Friday via a joint post on Instagram, which included an elegant yet simple announcement card.

“It is with so much love and gratitude that we welcome our baby boy,” the message read, presented with a white heart emoji. The post immediately drew millions of likes and congratulatory comments within minutes of being shared.

Social media was flooded with congratulatory messages from fans and celebrities. Actress Bipasha Basu shared, “Congratulations to both of you, love to the little bundle of joy,” while actor Maniesh Paul added, “Big big congratulations to both of you and the entire family.”

Overjoyed fans chimed in by the thousands: “So happy for you two,” one user wrote; another said, “Congratulations!! May God bless you all with the best.” And many mentioned one amazing numerical coincidence — pointing out that Katrina’s birthday, July 16, Vicky’s, May 16, and their baby boy’s birth date, November 7, all add up to seven.

As one fan pointed out, commenting on the news, “Love how everyone is number 7!”

The couple, known for keeping their relationship largely private, confirmed their pregnancy in September this year but have since stayed away from public appearances and media interactions.

According to various reports, Katrina Kaif kept a low profile during the nine months of her pregnancy and concentrated on being healthy, not attending any film promotions or public events. There were no reported medical complications or hospital visits either.

Katrina Kaif is one of Bollywood’s most popular actresses, headlining some of the biggest films such as Tiger 3, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, and Phone Bhoot. Vicky Kaushal has also emerged as one of the leading contemporary actors in India with starring roles in Uri: The Surgical Strike and Sardar Udham.

The announcement has since gone viral as fans celebrated what many termed “Bollywood’s happiest news of the year.”

The congratulations have been pouring in from all over the film industry and beyond, but the couple is yet to reveal more details about the newborn or share photographs, keeping with their signature privacy.
