Hazipur Strong Room Controversy: The district administration has given clarification on the uproar over allegations of irregularities in the strong room of Hajipur. The District Magistrate (DM) completely rejected all the allegations and said that there was no irregularities or negligence in the strong room. He said that the allegations made by RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) are completely baseless.
Actually, RJD had posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) and claimed that a van had entered the strong room at midnight. The party had accused the administration of trying to influence the election results. After this video went viral, there was a stir in the district and a team of administrative officials immediately reached the spot.
DM said that the security arrangements of the strong room are completely solid. He said, “We ourselves were present at the time of sealing. Yesterday evening also we inspected all the strong rooms. All the seals are completely safe and no tampering has been done. All the CCTV cameras are working.”
He also clarified that the video in which it was said that the cameras were switched off is based on wrong information. According to the DM, due to a technical problem with the auto timer on the TV screen, the display was switched off for a few minutes, but the feed from the cameras continued to be received in the control room and its recording also continued.
It was told by the administration that two control rooms have been made in the strong room complex, one for the administrative officers and the other for the candidates or their agents. Live camera feed is available at both the places so that complete transparency is maintained.
On the other hand, to investigate the allegations made by RJD, a team of officers reached the strong room at Aryan College and inspected the situation there. Officials said they will share the detailed report only after the investigation is completed. At present, the administration claims that there is no lack of security in the strong room and all the processes are being done as per the guidelines of the Election Commission. The DM has appealed to the people to ignore rumors and rely only on official information.
