New Delhi: New Aadhaar rules have come into effect from the first day of November. According to these new rules Aadhaar cardholders will no longer need to visit an Aadhaar card center to make any changes to their Aadhaar card. According to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to simplify the process for users Aadhaar cardholders demographic information can now be updated online making it easier for them to change their location.
PAN-Aadhaar linking is mandatory before December 31
With the implementation of the new rule Aadhaar cardholders will now be able to update information such as their name address date of birth and mobile number online. Additionally Aadhaar cardholders will be required to link their PAN with Aadhaar before December 31st 2025. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has made the process of linking PAN and Aadhaar very easy for citizens. You can apply by visiting the official website. Follow these steps to check your PAN-Aadhaar link status.

Keep your PAN and Aadhaar numbers handy
First visit the governments official website or search for Pan-Aadhaar link status on Google. Once the site opens youll need to enter your PAN and Aadhaar number.
After clicking on this site click View Link Aadhaar Status and the status will be immediately displayed on the screen. If your PAN and Aadhaar are linked youll find out here if the link is complete.
Keep these things in mind before linking
Before linking your PAN and Aadhaar users should ensure that the name date of birth and other details on both cards match. If there are any discrepancies theyll need to first go to the UIDAI or Income Tax Department website to correct. Its worth noting that if your Aadhaar and PAN are not linked before January 1 2026 your PAN will be deactivated.
