New Delhi: The dispute between India and Pakistan over the Asia Cup 2025 trophy now appears to be solved. A meeting in Dubai between BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has raised hopes for a resolution to the issue. The meeting took place during an International Cricket Council (ICC) gathering where both sides discussed the matter of handing over the trophy. Background of the Trophy Dispute India had won the Asia Cup 2025 a tournament played between eight nations with a stellar performance but the team did not take possession of the trophy. In fact Pakistans Interior Minister and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi insisted on personally presenting the trophy which the BCCI objected to. This is why India did not officially accept the trophy and the matter remained unresolved at the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) level. Breakthrough in Dubai Meeting Naqvi who is also the head of the ACC was in Dubai to attend the ICC meeting where he met with BCCI officials. During this meeting a positive discussion took place regarding the Asia Cup trophy dispute. Currently the trophy is kept at the ACC headquarters in Dubai where Naqvi has instructed that it not be moved without his permission. Saikia now hopes that this new round of talks will lead to a concrete solution soon. Dialogue Continues Between Both Boards Devajit Saikia said The ice has now broken and both sides will try to find a solution as soon as possible. He also added that both the BCCI and PCB are now considering several options to resolve this dispute amicably. This indicates that there may be a slight easing of the long-standing India-Pakistan cricket tensions.
