New Delhi: The Indian cricket team concluded its Australia tour on a positive note. India won 2-1 in the five-match T20 series, while the last match was canceled due to rain at The Gabba in Brisbane. Interestingly, Team India has not lost any T20 series on Australian soil since 2008 and this time too it maintained its reputation.
Under the captaincy of Shubman Gill, India also played three ODIs on this tour. However, India had to face defeat by 1-2 in the ODI series. Despite this, the young players proved that they are ready for the upcoming big tournaments by performing brilliantly on many occasions.
After the end of Australia tour, Indian players will get very little time for rest. Team India will now face South Africa on its home ground. This series will be very long, which includes two Tests, three ODIs and five T20 Internationals.
The first Test between India and South Africa will be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata from 14 November. This historic ground has always been witness to big matches. After this, the second test will be played at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati from 22nd November. Both the teams have already announced their squads for the Test series.
This time the captaincy of India will be in the hands of Shubman Gill, while South Africa will be led by Temba Bavuma. The Indian team includes players full of experience and young energy like Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.
After the Test series, both the teams will face each other in the ODI format. The first ODI will be played in Ranchi on 30 November. The second match will be held in Raipur on 3rd December and the third and final ODI will be held in Visakhapatnam on 6th December. The squads of the ODI teams have not been announced yet, but many young players are expected to be selected.
After the end of the ODI series, India and South Africa will play five T20 matches. This series will start from 9th December and the first match will be held in Cuttack. After this, matches will be played in Mullanpur on 11 December, Dharamshala on 14 December, Lucknow on 17 December and Ahmedabad on 19 December. The T20 series will give the Indian team an opportunity to strengthen its combination towards the T20 World Cup.
