In an exciting match of Ranji Trophy 2025-26, Meghalaya's young batsman Akash Kumar Chaudhary attracted the attention of the entire cricket world. This player broke a big world record by scoring a half-century in just 11 balls. With this inning, Akash Kumar Chaudhary made the record of scoring the fastest half-century in first class cricket. He accomplished this feat against Arunachal Pradesh in Surat.

During this, Akash Kumar Chaudhary remained unbeaten after scoring 50 runs on 14 balls. During this period, he touched the figure of 50 runs in just 11 balls. With which he broke the 13 year old world record. Earlier, the record of scoring the fastest half-century in first class cricket was in the name of Wayne White. Wayne White had achieved this feat in 12 balls against Essex in 2012. But Akash Kumar created history by playing one ball less than him. At the same time, earlier the record of fastest half-century in Ranji Trophy was in the name of Bandip Singh of Jammu and Kashmir. He scored a fifty in 15 balls against Tripura in 2015-16.

During this historic innings, Akash Kumar Choudhary also achieved the feat of hitting 6 sixes in one over of Limar Dabi. Akash became the second batsman after Ravi Shastri to hit six sixes in an over in Ranji Trophy.
