Irfan Pathan’s advice to batsman Abhishek Sharma : A five-match T20 series was played between India and Australia. India won the series 2-1. India’s explosive batsman Abhishek Sharma performed brilliantly in this series. So he was selected as the serial hero. Meanwhile, former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has praised young batsman Abhishek Sharma for his explosive batting and has also given him important advice.
Irfan Pathan said that Abhishek Sharma’s aggressive approach is very beneficial for the Indian team, but he needs to learn when and against which bowler to take risks. According to Pathan, if Abhishek Sharma tries to attack every ball without strategy, opposition teams will soon understand his game and find a way how to dismiss him.
Irfan Pathan added, “It’s great that Abhishek plays fearless cricket. But if he attacks every bowler in the same way, it can also be detrimental to him. He needs to learn which over and which ball to attack and aggression is important, but the strategy behind it is equally important.”
Abhishek Sharma grabbed everyone’s attention with his brilliant batting in the T20I series between India vs Australia. He was also selected as the Man of the Series for his performance. Abhishek top-scored in the series and along with opener Shubman Gill also got the Indian team off to a good start in several matches.
Irfan Pathan also admitted that Abhishek Sharma’s game needs some technical improvement, especially against fast bowlers. He said, “When you score 1000 runs in over 500 balls, the pressure on you increases, the expectations increase. Now, opposition teams will watch his videos to strategize for them. So, they will have to adjust their game and learn to avoid unnecessary risks.”
Irfan Pathan also concluded by saying that “Abhishek Sharma needs to be able to shift gears according to the situation. That is, he needs to be able to control the pace of his game. If Abhishek continues to work in this direction, he is likely to become one of India’s most successful T20 batsmen in the future.”
