Porter, who performs under the stage name Brook Lynn, said she met Muhammad V, January last year through mutual friends.

“We had this instant chemistry and good banter,” Porter told South China Morning Post. They soon began dating, enjoying luxurious trips across Asia. Porter described the former king as very generous, estimating that he spent millions of dollars on gifts and travel. In April 2024, he proposed to her with a blue diamond ring “to match my eyes.”

According to Mothershipthe ceremony occurred in April 2024 during a trip to Oman, just three months after they first met. Porter recalled going through a ritual Muhammad V described as a religious blessing. She said she did not realize that the ritual, known as a “nikah,” is an official marriage ceremony in Islam.

Porter claimed she was later urged to bear a son to continue his lineage, but their relationship began to deteriorate after she suffered a miscarriage.

Despite this, she returned to California to prepare for a Western-style wedding. However, Muhammad V became distant and eventually stopped all communication.

“I freaked out and flew to Malaysia, found out he was in Singapore, and flew to Singapore. He was staying on the top floor of the Four Seasons and the front desk wouldn’t let me up. I climbed the stairwell, which wasn’t my best moment. He wouldn’t answer his door, so I got a room there and kept texting asking if he wanted to talk. In the middle of the night, he just got on a plane and left. His butler texted me, apologizing,” she told the SCMP.

Porter claims that Muhammad V eventually contacted one of her friends to convey that the relationship was over, describing the pair as “separated”.

She has since taken to social media to seek clarification, saying she is now looking for a “proper divorce.”

“I was never given any closure or accountability. I deserve a proper divorce and a sincere apology,” she wrote on her Instagram.

Muhammad V, reigned as King of Malaysia from 2016 until his abdication in 2019, later returned to his role as ruler of Kelantan, a conservative state in northeastern Malaysia. He has been married three times, including to Russian beauty queen Oxana Voevodina, whom he married in 2018 and divorced the following year.
